Cinematographer in Macau
Ryan Potts (Rynos) is a Director and Director of Photography who shoots brand, tourism and documentary work in Macau. His DP work includes Macao Through Generations, a six-part campaign for the Macao Government Tourism Office, produced by BBC StoryWorks with director Jon Lister.
His fashion work also includes PAIGE's wider campaign across Macau, Hong Kong and Shanghai. The team used 16mm alongside other footage to continue the look of the brand's Los Angeles campaigns. See the Shanghai film and campaign notes for the reason behind that format choice.
Macau packs an unusual visual range into a small footprint: Portuguese colonial streets and tilework, baroque churches, the world's densest casino skyline, fishing-village quiet on the outer islands, and the new Cotai strip. For a tourism board, a hospitality brand, or a documentary, it offers more distinct looks per shoot day than almost anywhere in the region.
Ryan is based in Guangzhou and works across Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China. Local crew, locations and production responsibilities are agreed around the shoot.
