Cinematographer in Macau

Ryan Potts (Rynos) is a Director and Director of Photography who shoots brand, tourism, and documentary work in Macau. He has shot in the city for Macao Tourism × BBC StoryWorks, and runs the whole production on the ground as one trusted point of contact.

Macau packs an unusual visual range into a small footprint: Portuguese colonial streets and tilework, baroque churches, the world's densest casino skyline, fishing-village quiet on the outer islands, and the new Cotai strip. For a tourism board, a hospitality brand, or a documentary, it offers more distinct looks per shoot day than almost anywhere in the region.

Rynos is based in Guangzhou, about an hour from Macau by road or ferry, and works across the wider Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta corridor. The same crew network, gear relationships, and local production knowledge carry across the whole region, so a Macau shoot doesn't mean starting from zero.

What gets shot in Macau

Tourism and destination films, hospitality and resort brand work, cultural and heritage documentary, and luxury campaigns that want the city's particular blend of European and Chinese texture. Macau's permit and location access run differently from the mainland, which is exactly where a producer who knows the ground saves you days.
