Cinematographer in Hong Kong
Ryan Potts (Rynos) is a Director / DP who shoots commercial and documentary work in Hong Kong. Based in Guangzhou, he works with teams in Hong Kong and mainland China.
Hong Kong occupies a unique production position in Asia - it operates under international production norms (English widely spoken, Western-standard contracts, familiar IP and release protocols) while sitting at the edge of mainland China's market and talent pool. For international clients who want the visual texture of Chinese urbanism without the permit complexity of the mainland, it's often the first choice.
His Hong Kong work includes the Vivo X300 Ultra campaign, shot as DP across mainland China and Hong Kong, and Changing Times for Business of Design Week, which he directed and shot with Capsule48.
His fashion work includes PAIGE's wider campaign across Hong Kong, Macau and Shanghai. The team used 16mm to carry the look of the brand's Los Angeles campaigns into its work for Asia. The campaign also used other footage. See First Date in Shanghai for the Shanghai film and more about the three-city campaign.

What Hong Kong offers on camera
The city is visually extraordinary and immediately recognisable. Dense vertical architecture, layered signage, the contrast between colonial-era buildings and glass towers, the harbour light at golden hour - these are images with weight. For fashion work, the city's mix of street texture and luxury retail environments provides a range that few locations match in a similar geographic footprint.
Production logistics
Hong Kong's production industry is well-established, with experienced local crews and solid gear rental options. As a DP with cross-border production experience, Rynos can manage crew and logistics on both the Hong Kong and mainland China sides of a production - useful for shoots that span the border.
