PB Tails The Dock - Director's Cut

A Kickstarter campaign film for PB Tails - a gaming controller and charging dock - shot in Shenzhen on Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K Pro G2. Directed by Anthony Pontillas, with Ryan Potts as DOP and colourist.

The film is set in a dystopian future where humanity has been forced underground. Two lovers, separated by space and time, pay a back-alley dealer to load into old memories using hacked VR technology. Lost in their shared past, they find each other again.

The brief asked for a piece that could carry the product as a narrative object rather than a demonstrated feature - the controller and dock as the tools through which the characters reconnect. Equal parts sci-fi short film and product showcase, shot with a production design and visual language that punched well above the Kickstarter budget.
